Connection Troubleshooting

Before trying any of the following steps check the BlizzardCS Twitter for any service interruptions.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot latency or disconnection problems. Select your game from the dropdown at the bottom for game-specific troubleshooting.
- Reset your network devices to make sure your router hasn't become flooded with data.
- If you're using a wireless connection, optimize your internet connection to rule out a connection issue.
- Update your drivers and operating system to resolve any compatibility issues.
- Release and renew your IP and flush your DNS to resolve any network conflicts.
- Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
Advanced Troubleshooting
- Check your network configuration to find any issues with your firewall, router, or port settings.
- Disable any proxies that may interfere with the login module.
- Update or Modify your security programs, which may mistakenly identify the login module as a security threat.
- Reset your network devices to make sure your router hasn't become flooded with data.
- Run Software Update to check for pending updates to software, drivers, and firmware.
- If you're using a wireless connection, optimize your internet connection to rule out a connection issue.
- Release and renew your IP and flush your DNS to resolve any network conflicts.
- Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
Advanced Troubleshooting
- Repair Disk Permissions to resolve any permission conflicts with logon modules.
- Check your network configuration to find any issues with your firewall, router, or port settings.
- Disable any proxies that may interfere with the login module.
- Update or Modify your security programs, which may mistakenly identify the login module as a security threat.
- Check the Realm Status page to see if your realm is up.
- Reset your user interface to make sure your files and addons are not corrupted.
- Check your in-game network optimization settings:
- Go to the in-game Network menu (ESC > System > Network).
- Check the Optimize Network for Speed option if you're using a high-speed internet connection.
- Uncheck the Optimize Network for Speed option if you're using a low-speed internet connection.
- Delete the Cache Folder if you're having problems downloading custom maps.
- Deleting the Cache Folder can resolve some login issues.
