Linked the Wrong Third Party Platform Account to Battle.net Account

Connections between Battle.net accounts and Steam, Xbox Live®, Playstation Network®, or Nintendo Switch® accounts can be removed at any time.

If you made a mistake linking your account, you can retry linking to the correct account one time before a cooldown is applied. With subsequent mistakes, you will have to wait until the cooldown expires.

You can fix the account link if you have made a mistake one time, by following the below steps, however, if a mistake is made a second time, you will need to wait until the cooldown has expired before retrying.

To link your account, or correct a link, please do the following:

  1. Make sure you log into the correct third-party platform account first
  2. Log in to the Battle.net Account with the existing link
  3. Go to Battle.net Connections
  4. Under Connect Accounts, find the account you with to disconnect
  5. Click Disconnect
    • Disclaimer: Disconnecting the connection will result in the loss of all current Game Progress and any earned or claimed rewards. These cannot be moved to a new Account.
  6. To Connect a new third-party platform account, click Connect
  7. You will then follow the flow to connect to your new external account
  8. You will see Confirm Connection
  9. Make sure that the GamerTags are for the accounts you want to link and click Confirm
  10. You are now connected

Account links have cooldowns limiting how often they can be changed. You will receive a warning specifying the specific cooldown length when disconnecting an account type that has a cooldown. Customer Support is unable to bypass these cooldowns or fix incorrectly linked accounts.
