Basic Information:

  • The in-game store in Warcraft Rumble offers Modest, Major, Mega and Mythic Tomes for sale.
  • Tomes provide Mini experience (XP). Tomes present XP in Pages, which offer a choice between a Pair of 2 Minis in the player’s collection. The player will select 1 Mini from each pair to immediately receive the displayed XP.
    • Major, Mega and Mythic Tomes provide 3, 5 and 11 Pages, respectively.
    • Tome Pages have a 5% chance to double the XP value granted to a Mini, which is shown before the choice is made.
    • Specific XP amounts granted for each Tome can be seen in the Player Profile screen in game.

Figure 1. XP Pages present a pair of left & right Mini Options.

  • Minis have an XP level cap of 20 (XP-Capped Mini), and once a Mini reaches level 20, no additional XP can be given to that Mini.
    • Bonus levels (gained from talents, rarity upgrades, etc.,) are not counted towards the level cap, and have no effect on selection logic of the Minis.

Major, Mega, and Mythic Tome Drop-Rate Disclosures

  • All Tomes broadly follow the Generic Pool Selection Logic section outlined below when populating Pages with Pairs of Minis. In addition:
    • Major and Mega Tomes can sometimes be themed as either a Family or Leader Tome – which follow additional rules outlined in the Family and Leader Pool Logic sections below, respectively.
    • Mythic Tomes contain 11 Pages and aim to fill them with the following format: 1 Page for each Family (Alliance, Horde, Undead, Blackrock, Beast and Cenarion), 2 Pages for Leaders, and 3 Generic Pages. Individual Family, Leader, and Generic Pages are filled in accordance with the section logic outlined below.

Generic Pool Selection Logic

  • By default, all Minis have equal odds of appearing in a Tome.
  • However, selection odds can shift depending on the levels of Minis in your collection. The 5th highest-leveled Mini in your collection (excluding XP-Capped Minis) affects drop-rate as follows:
    • Minis 1 level higher than the 5th highest Mini have a 50% lower probability (than default odds) to appear;
    • Minis 2 levels higher than the 5th highest Mini have a 90% lower probability (than default odds) to appear;
    • Minis 3 or more levels higher than the 5th highest Mini will not appear;
    • Remaining Minis have equally distributed odds to appear.
  • Duplicate Minis will not appear in a tome, except under circumstances where no other suitable Minis can be chosen.
    • XP-Capped Minis will also not appear, unless you have an insufficient number of XP-eligible Minis.
    • For more details on the selection logic of duplicate & XP-Capped Minis, please refer to the “On Duplicates & XP-Capped Minis” section in the Detailed Example tab.

Family Pool Selection Logic

  • For Family Tomes, the Left Pairs of all Pages (3 pairs for Major, 5 for Mega) will first be filled with Minis that match the Family Tome theme. The Right Pairs of all Pages are then filled in accordance with the Generic Pool Selection Logic above.
  • If the player has an insufficient number of appropriate Minis to fill a particular Family Page, it will be filled in accordance with the Generic Pool Selection Logic instead.

Leader Pool Selection Logic

  • For Leader Tomes, the Left Pairs of all Pages (3 pairs for Major, 5 for Mega) will first be filled with Leader Minis. The Right Pairs of all Pages are then filled in accordance with the Generic Pool Selection Logic above.
  • If the player has an insufficient number of appropriate Minis to fill a particular Leader Page, it will be filled in accordance with the Generic Pool Selection Logic instead.

On Duplicates & XP-Capped Minis

In general, Minis will not appear more than once per tome. Only when all non-duplicate Mini options have been exhausted, can duplicate Minis begin to appear in tomes.

Similarly, XP-Capped Minis will not appear in tomes by default. Only when all other XP-eligible Mini options (including duplicates) have been exhausted, can XP-Capped Minis begin to appear in tomes.

  • This scenario only occurs when players have XP-Capped most of their collection.
  • Instead of XP, selecting a XP-Capped Mini will grant Arc Energy at a rate of 20 XP: 1 Arc Energy. Arc Energy is used to level up any Mini’s Rarity.

Consider this logic priority list of an Undead Tome when attempting to select a Mini:

  1. Try to select a theme-appropriate mini (Undead) that is XP-eligible, and non-duplicate.
  2. If cannot, try to select a non-thematic Mini that is XP-eligible, and non-duplicate.
  3. If cannot, try to select any duplicate Mini (thematic or not) that is XP-eligible.
  4. If cannot, select any XP-Capped Mini in your collection.

To further illustrate how duplicates can appear in a tome, consider the following example collection of Minis (levels displayed exclude bonus levels).

(Lv 19) Mini 1
(Lv 19) Mini 2
(Lv 19) Undead Mini 3
(Lv 18) Mini 4
(Lv 18) Undead Mini 5 -> 5th Highest-Levelled Mini

Basic Information:

  • The in-game store in Warcraft Rumble offers Modest Star Point Tomes for sale.
  • Star Point Tomes provide Star Points (SP). Tomes present SP in Pages, which offer a choice between a Pair of 2 Minis. The player will select 1 Mini from each pair to immediately receive the displayed amount of Star Points.
    • Star Point Tome Pages will either offer a choice between two Troops (Troop Page) or two Leaders (Leader Page).
    • Star Point Tome Pages have a 5% chance to double the Star Point value granted to a Mini, which is shown before the choice is made.
    • The amount & type of Pages are predetermined by Tome size, as are the base amount of Star Points provided per selection.
      • Modest Star Point Tomes provide 3 Pages (2 Troop & 1 Leader Page), with 1 Star Point per selection.
    User-added image

Figure 1. Star Point Pages present a pair of left & right Mini Options.

  • Minis have a Star Point cap of 64 (SP-Capped Mini), and once a Mini attains 64 Star Points, no additional SP can be given to that Mini. SP-Capped Minis will not appear in Star Point Tomes by default.
  • Unowned Minis can show up in Star Point Tomes. If you choose unowned minis, you will receive the Mini in your collection. However, certain Minis which have specific restrictions cannot appear until they have first been obtained elsewhere. This includes:
    • Seasonal Minis (in the Season which they first appear)
    • Deep Breath (first unlocked by defeating Onyxia)
    • Ragnaros (first unlocked by defeating Ragnaros)
    • Future Minis fitting into this category

Star Point Tome Drop-Rate Disclosures:

  • By default, all Minis have equal odds of appearing in a Star Point Tome
  • However, selection odds can shift depending on the Distance to Upgrade of Minis in your collection.
    • Distance to Upgrade is defined as the remaining Star Points needed for a Mini to reach the subsequent Rarity level
      • Ex. A Common Mini with no additional Star Points has a Distance to Upgrade of 3 (4 – 1 = 3)
      • Ex2. A Rare Mini with 10 additional Stars has a Distance to Upgrade of 15 (39 – 24 = 15)
      • Ex3. An unowned Mini has a Distance to Upgrade of 4 (4 – 0 = 4)
    • For more details on the Mini Rarity and breakpoints, please refer to “Information on Mini Rarity” section in the Detailed Example tab.
  • Selection odds are impacted by Distance to Upgrade as follows:
    • Minis 1-3 Star Points away from an upgrade have a 25% higher probability (than default odds) of appearing
    • Minis 4-6 Star Points away from an upgrade have a 30% higher probability (than default odds) of appearing
    • Minis 7-9 Star Points away from an upgrade have a 35% higher probability (than default odds) of appearing
    • Minis 10 Star Points or more away from an upgrade have a 10% higher probability (than default odds)
    • For more details on the selection logic of duplicate & SP-Capped Minis, please refer to the “On Duplicates & SP-Capped Minis” section in the Detailed Example tab.

On Duplicates & SP-Capped Minis

In general, Minis will not appear more than once per Star Tome. Only when all non-duplicate Mini options have been exhausted, can duplicate Minis begin to appear in tomes.

Similarly, SP-Capped Minis will not appear in tomes by default. Only when all other SP-eligible Mini options (including duplicates) have been exhausted, can SP-Capped Minis begin to appear in tomes.

  • This scenario only occurs when players have SP-Capped most of their collection.
  • Instead of SP, selecting a SP-Capped Troop will grant Arc Energy at a rate of 225 Arc Energy: 1 Star Point. Selecting an SP-Capped Leader will grant Arc Energy at a rate of 300 Arc Energy: 1 Star Point. Arc Energy is used to level up any Mini’s Rarity.

Information on Mini Rarity

Mini Rarity is just one way to power up your Minis, granting bonus levels and unlocking powerful talents.

Minis have five different Rarities – Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. If you do not own a Mini, the first copy attained will grant you the Mini at the Rarity that you acquired it.

Duplicate Minis are converted to Star Points, which can be used with Arc Energy (AE) and Cores to upgrade Rarity. All Minis require 64 Star Points to acheive their maximum Rarity.

Specifically, the cumulative Star Points needed at each Rarity are:

  • Common = 1
  • Uncommon = 4
  • Rare = 14
  • Epic = 39
  • Legendary = 64
