The Arachnophobia Setting in World of Warcraft replaces spider models with alternative creatures. Other spider-like models may also be swapped at developer discretion. This setting does not affect gameplay or difficulty.

The setting can be accessed in-game through Esc > Options > Accessibility > General.

Certain creatures may not dynamically swap if the setting is changed when the creature is already in view. To avoid any unexpected or uncomfortable interactions with spider-like creatures, we recommend playing with the setting always enabled.

The Arachnophobia Setting will not apply to:

  • Pre-rendered cinematics
  • Dungeon Journal boss entries
  • Loading screen art
  • Item and spell icon art
  • All 3D and 2D cobwebs and webbings

The Arachnophobia Setting will apply to:

  • Creatures and bosses in the outdoor world, dungeons, and raids.
  • Battle Pets
  • Hunter Pets
  • Mounts
    • Mount models will not dynamically swap if a player is already on the mount before the setting is changed.

Warning: Below you will find images of spider models to show examples of what models will not be swapped but still exhibit some bug or spider-like qualities, as well as what models will be swapped and what the alternative creatures look like.
