Mouse Clicking in Wrong Location

Common Problems

  • My mouse is clicking in the wrong spot
  • Clicks and highlights aren't coming from the tip of my mouse pointer

Select the game you are playing.

 
  1. Open the Battle.net App, select World of Warcraft on the left, then click and select Show in Explorer
  2. Open the World of Warcraft game folder
  3. Right-click Wow.exe and select Properties
  4. Click the Compatibility tab
  5. Make sure Override high DPI scaling behavior is checked
  6. Select Application from the drop down and Apply the settings

Windows® 7 and Windows® 8

  1. Right-click on your desktop and select Screen Resolution.
  2. Click Make text and other items larger or smaller.
  3. Change the size to either Smaller or Medium. (Our games are not compatible with the Larger setting.)
  4. Select Apply.
  5. Restart your computer.

Windows® 10

Any of these steps may resolve the issue.

  • Mouse Settings
  1. Press Windows Key-Q to open the search menu.
  2. Search: Ease of Access Mouse.
  3. Under the Pointer Size section, select the first or second option.
  • Resolution Settings
    1. Right-click desktop and select Display Settings.
    2. Adjust the Change size of text... slider to the left.

    If the above steps do not resolve the issue, try the following:

    1. Open the Battle.net desktop app, click the World of Warcraft icon on the left, and select Show in Explorer from the Options menu
    2. Open the World of Warcraft game folder
    3. Open the _retail_ folder
    4. Open the WTF folder
    5. Open the Config.wtf file with the Notepad app.
    6. Add a line to the bottom with this text: SET gxCursor "0"
    7. Save and close the file.
    1. Open the Battle.net App, select StarCraft II on the left, then click and select Show in Explorer
    2. Open the StarCraft II game folder
    3. Right-click StarCraft II.exe and select Properties
    4. Click the Compatibility tab
    5. Make sure Override high DPI scaling behavior is checked
    6. Select Application from the drop down and Apply the settings

    Windows® 7 and Windows® 8

    1. Right-click on your desktop and select Screen Resolution.
    2. Click Make text and other items larger or smaller.
    3. Change the size to either Smaller or Medium. (Our games are not compatible with the Larger setting.)
    4. Select Apply.
    5. Restart your computer.

    Windows® 10

        Windows® 7 and Windows® 8

        1. Right-click on your desktop and select Screen Resolution.
